Natural Resources:
Some of the minerals that are in my area are potash,aluminum, nickel, coal, salt, sulphur and uranium.There is about 1,000 Animals in our
area.Some of the animals that are in my area are the Rocky Mountain goat, big horn sheep, northern pike and hoary marmot.Some of the
forest animals are moose, mule deer,,White tailed deer and caribou.Some of the plants in our area are the lodgepole pine, trembling aspen
and black spruce. Some of the plants in our area are Rocky Mountain juniper, Rocky Mountain maple, quacking aspen, a dotted blazing star.
Importance:
Our area is unique because we have 4 national parks in it.The national park that we have are Jasper, Banff, Kooteny and Yoho.It is a core
area from Yellowstone to the Yukon.It is a 550 long protected area around the four national parks. Three animals have been there 100
years ago. The animals that have been here for 100 years or more are wolverines, Grizzly bears and cutthroat bull trout.

The dotted blazing star scientific name is Liatris punctata.They grow from a thick taproot which may extend 5 m (16 ft) deep in the ground.
erect stems up to 80 centimetres (2.6 feet) tall. The are they are purple. lodgepole pine is a coniferous tree. A coniferous tree is a
tree that doesn't have leaves and the pines stay up all year. It is a tall, slender, and straight tree.It's bark is orange and brown. The wolverines scientific name is Gulo golu. The life span is 5-13 years, wolverines are carnivorous. A adult wolverine can grow up to 77cm. The
scientific name is populus tremulous.
