Task 1: Our region has a couple priority areas like Banff and Jasper national park but there is more like Yoho national park, Canmore, Fernie and 3 other national and provincial parks in our region. There a lot of small city/towns in our region. These parks and Towns in our region are very famous for their recreation in Banff, Canmore, Fernie and Jasper and the national/provincial parks are very beautiful and fun to the nature and wildlife. Here is a bonus there are lot of rivers and lakes and I mean lot of rivers and lakes which makes good fishing and recreation.
Task 3: Our region has very diverse ecosystem and we are going to show you some unique things in our region. Animal 1:The Ptarmigan The ptarmigan is a medium sized bird in the grouse family. It can be found in high altitude places in the UK and Canada like the Rocky Mountains. Animal 2: The Hoary Marmot The Hoar marmot is species of marmot that is primarily found in the Rocky Mountains in Canada it eats grasses and forbs And uses rocky area for shelter. Deciduous tree: White Birch The white birch is mostly in forested areas across Canada but mostly in the boreal forest. White birch trees are usually used for decoration. Coniferous tree: Alpine Larch The alpine larch has small egg-shaped seed cones with a reddish and yellow colour. The alpine larch can be found in the Rocky Mountains. Task 4: This is the final overall of our region so here we go. The Central Canadian Rocky Mountains has value because of it's variety of evergreen trees, pine trees, rivers and lakes. Most trees are on a slope It also has a good variety of animals, all animals in that area has to have a coat for the winter like wolverines if they stay for the cold winters, or they will migrate south until the spring, some of these animals are valued for their furs. There are also songbirds that live here in the trees. This area is prime grizzly bear habitat from the clear cuts in the area. There is 1 MVT mine and 2 oil / gas mines in our area. The reason our area unique is that we have 6 national parks like Banff, Jasper and Yoho national park and many provincial parks like Kakwa and Mount Robson provincial park. |
Task 2:
There is a lot of different flora and fauna here is a list of most of them. Here are some the flowers. Alberta Wild Rose Alfalfa Arnica Bird vetch Brome Buttercup And Canadian goldenrod Etc. Here are the trees of our region: Aspen poplar Balsam poplar White birch Tamarack larch Alpine larch Lodgepole pine Jack pine and limber pine etc. Here are some of the animals that live in our region: mule deer white tail deer wapiti wolfs bear hoary marmots ptarmigan mountain goats mountain caribou wolverine Here are some natural resources in our region: MVT deposit oil/gas forestry fishing coal mining and that's pretty much it.
