The greater Mackenzie mountains is one of the wildest places left on the planet they also have one of the continents largest constellations of wild mountain rivers. Wide ranging caribou herds still roam these vast areas. Abundant populations of moose , grizzly bears, wolves and wolverines. Large land scales like this are becoming increasingly important in a era of climate change. The Greater Mackenzie mountains has two national parks which they are called Nahanni National park and Nááts'ihch'oh National park they also have a river that is called peel river which is really has a unique shape. Much of this region is unprotected. Some city's around the Greater Mackenzie mountains are Ross River, Fort Simpson, Dawson City and Dease Lake. The water source from the Greater Mackenzie Mountains is a 100% clean to drink.
