Upper Liard River is the heart of the Kaska Dene First Nation’s territory. It supports a lot of wildlife and fish including moose, caribou, lynx, black and grizzly bears.One of the most important species is the Mallard Duck.A total of 104 different types of birds and 28 different types of mammals live in Upper Liard Hot Springs.People value Upper Liard River because the river provides a lot of homes.The Liard River runs through Yukon, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories, Canada.The river takes away approximately 277,100 square kilometres (107,000 sq mi) of boreal forest.There is a Provincial Park called Liard River Hot Springs.It is a very popular tourist site in Alberta because of the hot springs.
